Climbing Your Mountain

The hardest climb is the one no one can see.

An independent documentary exploring mental health, grief, trauma and loss through personal stories, and the mountains we carry within ourselves.

This film deals with suicide and loss. If you need support now: Samaritans, free, call 116 123. Shout, text SHOUT to 85258. In immediate danger, call 999. More help.

I believe everyone's climbing their own mountain, and no matter what size your mountain is in your own head, everyone has their struggles.

Why Josh is making this film

Every documentary begins with a reason. For Josh, this one is deeply personal.

Everyone has a mountain to climb

Most of us know what a mountain looks like. But we don't always see the ones people carry.

For some, it's the grief of losing someone they love. For others, it's living with trauma, struggling with mental health or trying to find a way forward when life feels overwhelming.

Climbing Your Mountain brings these experiences into the open through honest, personal stories and a planned journey up Mount Snowdon.

The mountain is more than a destination. It represents the challenges people face every day, often without anyone else knowing.

This film isn't about comparing whose struggle is harder. It's about listening, understanding and recognising that every person's experience matters.

Because no two mountains are the same.

And no one should have to climb theirs alone.

Behind the camera

Josh Westover is the filmmaker behind Without Silence, a platform dedicated to sharing real stories about the human experience.

His own struggles with mental health, his experiences of neurodivergence and the loss of people close to him have shaped the stories he wants to tell.

Josh doesn't claim to have all the answers. What matters to him is giving people the space to speak for themselves, particularly about experiences that are too often misunderstood or left unspoken.

With Climbing Your Mountain, he hopes to create something that reaches beyond the screen: a film that helps people feel heard, recognise something of themselves in others and start conversations that might otherwise never happen.
