Without Silence
Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this site and watch our films. We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA. Some things are not finished yet, and we say so below.
What we have done
- Plain language and short pages, with a summary at the top of long ones.
- Works with a keyboard, with visible focus, and with screen readers.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content.
- A light page by default, and a dark mode you can switch on.
- No autoplay, no flashing, no moving backgrounds.
- A "Listen to this page" button reads the main text aloud, using your browser's own voice. It starts only when you press it. The voice depends on your device and may sound different from one phone or computer to another.
- Forms have visible labels and written error messages. No image puzzles.
What is not done yet
- Captions on our films come from the YouTube player. They are made automatically and may contain mistakes. We have not yet checked or corrected them.
- Transcripts are not yet available for every film.
- We do not yet offer audio description.
- The site has not yet been tested by an outside accessibility expert or by disabled users. We want to do this, and would welcome volunteers.
